The aircraft is a combination of a paraglider and a light weight engine
mounted on a light rigid chassis. The propeller is protected by a cage.
Because the paramotor is very light, it is very susceptible to the weather.
It is best only flown in nil to light winds. It is essential to understand
that paramotor canopies are not parachutes but wings and have the same
flying characteristics as any wing. They can spin and stall the same as any
aircraft and because of the nature of the flexible aerofoil on a paramotor
or Paraglider it is essential that proper training is undertaken by anyone
wanting to take up this exciting sport.
Albatross Flying System has designed a high quality paramotor unit. It is powered by the Hirth F 33 engine that deliver 22 HP. It has electric start
as standard, driven by high capacity nickel cadmium batteries. This under
normal conditions should give between 12 and 16 air starts per charge. It
can also be started manually on the ground by using the pull start. It is
lighter than contemporary designs and because of it's greater power to
weight ratio has a fantastic climb rate. Fuel economy is between 2 and 2.5
liters per hour.Specifications:
